102. The Company of Entrepreneurs Drapers’ Hall, 17 January 2024

The Company of Entrepreneurs (who are working towards becoming a Livery Company later this year) hold an annual event to recognise early stage enterprises: individuals and organisations, including those working on innovative new products and services, who are tackling big social and environmental issues.  The Entrepreneurs’ Award in Social Innovation is hosted by the Drapers’ Company with the backing of the Company of Entrepreneurs’ Trust.  The main sponsor is the University of Leicester School of Business.

The 2023 winner was DiRibona who use highly innovative sequencing technology and code to determine chemical and microbial imbalances in soil.  Their laboratorial facilities can grow microbes to correct and restore soil health.  At the event they described the challenges they face and the support and mentoring they receive from the Entrepreneurs’ Company.  We also heard from the amazing runners-up.

The event was well attended by business and Livery Companies.  It was a very encouraging occasion with the opportunity to network at with fellow Masters and Consorts, and share information on our forthcoming programmes.
